2017 Ford Explorer Wows MotorWeek Team

Are you shopping the full-size SUV segment for your next daily driver? Well, if so, we here at Karl Flammer Ford Inc. believe you may well discover your ideal fit in ours, the 2017 Explorer.

What makes us say that, though?

Receive the inside scoop from the good folks at MotorWeek; their evaluation of the Explorer is as follows:

There's no two ways about it: the Explorer's mid-level engine -- a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder -- is straight-up sensational.

Optional with the Base and XLT models -- and standard with the Limited -- the turbo-four is rated at a robust 280 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. It's equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. An all-wheel system, meanwhile, is offered as an extra.

We're also pretty impressed by this engine's fuel efficiency, as front-drive iterations, for instance, are expected to return 22 mpg combined (19 city/28 highway).

For more information about this versatile utility vehicle, or to take the wheel of one, we invite you to swing by our Tarpon Springs, FL showroom. Our seasoned staff is available to address your every question regarding the Explorer, or any other Ford model throughout the current catalog.
